Types of IPv6 Addresses

Unlike the 32-bit addresses of IPv4, IPv6 addresses are 128-bits. These longer addresses are partitioned into 16-bit bocks; then, each of these smaller blocks is turned into a 4-digit Hexadecimal number. Built intoIPv6addresses is notation identifying the application it will be used for. The first 64-bits of the address are for routing and the last 64-bits represent the interface or node.
